Upcoming Shows

2018-2019

Student Written/Directed One Acts:

High school students at RSS will get the opportunity to write and/or direct one act plays in an X-block electives course.  HS students will cast middle school actors and produce these shows.

Show dates are December 13, 14, and 15 (2018).

Picasso at the Lapin Agile - by Steve Martin:

This long running Off Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. In his first comedy for the stage, the popular actor and screenwriter plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century’s achievements and prospects, as well as other fanciful topics, with infectious dizziness.

Show dates are February 21, 22, and 23 (2019).

Big Fish (the Musical) - Music/Lyrics by Andrew Lippa; Book by John August (based on novel by Daniel Wallace):

BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales.  Overflowing with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft, BIG FISH is an extraordinary new Broadway musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and BIGGER than life itself.

Show dates are May 22, 23, 24, 25 (2019).
